Overview

Children's literature (児童文学, jidō bungaku) is a form of literature written for children. These can be encounter in the library or in Japanese language textbooks.

A lot of these stories use to be originally intended for adults, such as Gulliver's Travels and Journey to the West have been rewritten for children.

On the other hand, some works are originally published for children, such as Moribito: Guardian of the Spirit and Battery have been published as general books, and the line gradually becomes blurred.
