Overview
Excalibur Sonic (エクスカリバーソニック, Ekusukaribā Sonikku) is a transformation of Sonic the Hedgehog during the final phase of Sonic and the Black Knight. Sonic transformed himself by capturing the light of the lost holy sword and the three holy armaments Arondight, Galatine, and Laevatein, and his partner Caliburn, which was broken by the Queen of the Underworld, also awoke into the great sword Excalibur.
Appearance
He is clad in golden armor, and this series of transformation cutscenes is one of the most spirited in the series. Although he is covered in armor, his tail, which is covered by a cape, is sometimes exposed.
