Overview

Fate/Zero is a collaboration between TYPE-MOON and fellow developer Nitroplus. This story will detail the events happened at the fourth Holy Grail war, hence reading Fate/Stay Night in advance is highly advised.

Initially the novel itself was sold under TYPE-MOON BOOKS category in 4 volumes, and was not sold in every bookstores beforehand - in other words, the books were being treated as a doujinshi. However Seikaisha Books has since released all 6 volumes as an official novel available for sale in the market later on at April, 2011.

The novel was very well received by the fans. Aside from the Drama CD, Young Ace also adapted the series as a manga and is currently ongoing since February, 2011.

According to the 2011 issue of Type-Moon Ace magazine, an anime adaption of Fate/zero was green-lit for production. The animation is produced by studio Ufotable and will air in October 2011. This is the third anime production in the "Fate" series, following the 24 episodes "Stay Night" (Fate route) adaptation and the "Unlimited Blade Works" movie (Unlimited Blade Works route). Nico Nico Douga and Aniplex will simulcast "Fate/Zero" worldwide with eight different language subtitles (Korean, Chinese (Traditional & Simplified), English, French, German, Italian, and Spanish).

The first episode was aired at the start of October and was 45 minutes long.
