Overview
Red Pikmin (赤ピクミン, Iwa Pikumin) are the first Pikmin that the protagonist encounters in any of the games. The color of its flowers is white.
Aside from their color, they also have a pointed nose on their face.
They are indispensable companions in the early adventures and are the face of the series. Many players may first think of the red color when they think of Pikmin.
In the Pikmin Garden, they are said to have the strongest animal-like fighting spirit and curiosity among the Pikmin family, and in Pikmin 3 they are described as "belligerent with a pretty face" in a conversation among the members of the team. As described below, they are highly adaptable to temperature differences, and are widely distributed in both tropical (in Pikmin and Pikmin 3) and cold regions (in Pikmin 2).
Features
Fire Resistance
Although it is a plant, it is resistant to the heat of fire and has a body that never burns, which is an amazing characteristic. According to Pikmin Garden, this is because the skin and muscle fibers of its body tissue are composed of flame-resistant cells.
They can be exposed to flames emitted by some enemies and traps, and can also attack and extinguish the source of fire of enemies and traps that are on fire all over their bodies.
The disadvantage is that in Pikmin 2 and Pikmin 3, not to mention Pikmin, it is easy to rescue Pikmin that are on fire, and there are few situations where only Red Pikmin can advance, so the opportunities for success tend to be localized.
On the other hand, in Hey! Pikmin they tend to die easily, and the appearance of Fiery Dwarf Bulblax, which cannot be touched except by Red Pikmin, and a gimmick to extinguish a burning road have made them relatively more unique.
