Overview

Dawin's Game (ダーウィンズゲーム) is a shounen manga series produced by FLIPFLOPs. The manga has sold over 9.5 million copies by October 2023.

Story

A classmate invites Kaname Sudou, a high school student, to play Darwin's Game, a smartphone game he has never heard of. However, when he launches the software, a green snake pops out from his phone screen and bites his neck, knocking him unconscious. When he awakens in the infirmary with no signs of a snake bite, the school tells him to take the rest of the day off. Despite his confusion, he dismisses the strange experience as a hallucination and boards the train home.

Unfortunately, his curiosity wins out and he utilizes the application once again. Kaname breathes a sigh of relief as the program appears to be identical to any other fight game and decides to begin his first match. However, the pleasant surprise is short-lived, as his in-game opponent unexpectedly appears right in front of him and attempts to hunt him down with a knife.

As he desperately runs for his life, Kaname puts two and two together and realizes that Darwin’s Game is not an ordinary game, but a brutal fight for survival.

Name	Sudou Kaname (須藤 要)

Appearance	Kaname has short black hair and brown eyes. He usually wears a red shirt, a white hooded jacket, and jeans, though he has been shown wearing Chinese clothes while training with Ximing. Whenever he becomes serious, it is shown by him having black eyes.

Name	Karino Shuka (狩野 朱歌)

Appearance	Shuka has red eyes and long blonde hair that she has tied into two long braids. She is usually shown wearing a dark red dress, though she wore a black dress when she visited Trinity's event. Whenever she becomes serious, it is shown by her having black eyes.

Name	Sui (スイ)

Appearance	Sui has long pale blue hair and eyes of the same colour. She usually wears a white hooded coat with cat ears and black tights.After the 5 year timeskip, Sui now has longer hair which extends down to her stomach. She wears a dark top, an open coat similar to the hooded one she wore before, and long dark tights.

Name	Kashiwagi Rein (柏木 鈴音)

Appearance	Rein has purple eyes (blue in the anime) and medium-length black hair in a bob cut. She usually wears a light-coloured shirt, a black one-piece outfit with a skirt, and dark stockings. Her casual wear consists of a shirt and short shorts, though she is sometimes shown without the latter. When fighting or participating in Darwin's Game, she wears a large, light-coloured coat that covers her body from the shoulders down. After the timeskip, Rein wears a hooded jacket similar to her coat, along with black tights and shoes.

Name	Liu Xuelan (劉雪蘭)

Appearance	Xuelan has purple eyes and long black hair that is tied in a ponytail with two strands on either side of her face. She wears a white one-piece outfit with gold designs, a black waistband, black tights, and red shoes. She sometimes wears a fox mask to conceal her identity.

Name	Maesaka Ryuuji (前坂 隆二)

Appearance	Ryuuji has long blonde hair. When fighting or participating in Darwin's Game, he wears a skull mask and black bulletproof gear consisting of a black shirt and trench coat.

Overview

The anime adaptation of Darwin's Game was produced by Nexus, and aired from January 3 to March 21, 2020. The opening theme and ending themes were CHAIN (ASCA) and Alive (Mashiro Ayano).
