She was a third-year junior high school student living in Oumihachiman city, Shiga Prefecture who - according to her peers - excelled at school.

Despite this, she didn't have many friends at school which made her feel lonely and isolated and her studies weren't progressing as well as she would have liked which put a strain on her. She liked the anime Magical Princess Minky Momo (but apparently she wasn't very fond of Umi-Momo, one of the characters in said anime) and she admired Fuuka Haruna, a child actress who at the time was the same age as her. The actress only learned about this after the incident had already happened (see below) and consequently wrote a post about Roro-chan on her blog and followed her on Twitter.

On the 24th of November, 2013, while live streaming on FC2, despite her viewers asking her not to do anything stupid, she insisted that she wants to become a "legend" by jumping to her death off a building. Her body was discovered at early dawn by a newspaper courier. The digital footprint that she had left behind resonated with many young people, comments expressing their sympathy soon started to flood in.
