Who are You is a tag where one expressed a certain response to an extreme modification done to any existing character to make it out of character. It can be done in a positive or negative way, but usually for hillarious effect.

Fun Facts
The appearance of Alien Guts in Ultraman Seven can be considered as an exchange reaction for "Who are You".
Since the appearance was potrayed to be abrupt and sudden, one couldn't help but to shout that line out. And since then it is well known and the formula is used a lot in most Showa based Tokusatsu shows and anime shows as well. For example :
"Who are you!?"
"We are the one that has never experienced any defeat on the battlefield...the inivicible Alien Guts!"
Another fun fact would be the Tokusatsu series for Toei's Spiderman series, where the reaction can be applied to the appearance of Spiderman, who is extremely different from his western counterpart...like for this dialogue :
"Who are you!?"
"The messenger from hell, Spiderman!"
What is Considered Vague for "Who Are You"?
There are illustrations out there that the Japanese considered vague for "Who Are You" definition, below here are the list :
- Any friends that you have met for years suddenly become so much different in looks (or attitude) during the next meet up (See : Dare temee)
- When the usual user suddenly uploads a video which its contents are drastically different from what he/she usually uploads
- When an ordinary person became a certain someone different, beyond anyone's comprehension
- When you read a manga who evoled so drastically from its past quality
- When a sub character suddenly gets an exclusive episode or sudden development (See : Death Flag)
- When an unknown third person appears out of nowhere
