Overview
Announced in spring 2022 and released in April 2023, the Honda ZR-V was intended to fill the void left by the CR-V (which was discontinued in 2022 but returned in 2024 as a lease-only fuel cell vehicle, with a hybrid-only model debuted at the 2025 Japan Mobility Show).
It was sold in the US as the "HR-V", which is unrelated to the overseas version of the second-generation Vezel.
It uses the same platform as the 11th-generation Civic.
Specifications
The ZR-V is available with a 1.5-liter VTEC turbo and a 2.0-liter e:HEV hybrid powertrain. The turbo model produces a maximum output of 178 PS and a maximum torque of 240 Nm. Paired with a CVT, it achieves a maximum fuel economy of 14.6 km/L under WLTC conditions. The e:HEV model, combined with a CVT, produces a maximum output of 184 PS and a maximum torque of 315 Nm. Paired with the same e-CVT as the current Civic Hybrid, it achieves a maximum fuel economy of 22.1 km/L under WLTC conditions.
