概要
イギリスの行進曲で、作詞・作曲者は共に不明。タイトルは「英国擲弾兵連隊行進曲」とも表記される。
イギリス軍の擲弾兵(グレネード兵)、いわゆるエリート歩兵の部隊が使用する行進曲として知られ、17世紀末頃から使用されており、アレクサンダー大王やヘラクレス、ヘクトルにひけをとらぬ英雄だと英国擲弾兵を賞賛する歌詞がついている（現在の歌詞に固まるまでは複数のバリエーションが存在した）。
※本来の擲弾兵の意味は、手榴弾を投擲する兵だが、現在では名誉称号となっている。
現在では、バッキンガム宮殿を守る近衛歩兵連隊の他、カナダの擲弾兵連隊や砲兵連隊も行進曲として使用している。
前半はRiver City Brass Bandの演奏、後半は歌詞付き
日本では、ユーキャンのCMやTVアニメガールズ&パンツァーのBGMとして使用された。
