Overview
Aikatsu! (アイカツ!), short for Idol Katsudou (meaning Idol Activity), is a TV series and an arcade game made by Bandai. First aired on TV Tokyo from October 2012 until March 2016 for a total of 178 episodes, this is the first of the Aikatsu series.
In addition to the Data Carddass arcade game, it has inspired a "Photo on Stage" app game which was operational from January 27, 2016, to July 11, 2018, as well as movie adaptations. The first Aikatsu movie was shown in theaters on February 27, 2014, while the second movie came out on August 22, 2015. The most recent Aikatsu movie is titled Aikatsu! 10th STORY ~Mirai e no STARWAY~. Originally a short movie before the movie version of Aikatsu Planet!, it became a full-fledged movie that was released in cinemas on January 20, 2023.
