Overview
Byleth Eisner is a character from the video game Fire Emblem: Three Houses, developed by Intelligent Systems and Koei Tecmo for the Nintendo Switch. The game was released in July 2019. Byleth serves as the protagonist and can be either male or female, depending on the player's choice.
Origin
In the game's storyline, Byleth is initially a mercenary and the child of Jeralt, the leader of a mercenary group. Byleth is hired to teach at the Garreg Mach Monastery, an academy that trains students from three major nations. Byleth becomes the professor of one of three houses, which are the Black Eagles, Blue Lions, and Golden Deer. The player's choice of house influences the direction of the game's story.
Byleth is notable for their mysterious origins and their connection to the divine being Sothis, who resides within them. Throughout the game, players guide Byleth in tactical battles, form relationships with students and other characters, and make decisions that impact the course of the story and the fate of the continent of Fódlan.
