Overview
Hetero, or Heterosexual, is a straight relationship between a man and a woman. 'Hetero' is an antonym of 'heterogeneous' where it means "different."
On Pixiv
On Pixiv, the 'hetero' tag is used as a slang in yuri (and possibly yaoi) genres to denote characters who are averted to heterosexual relationships, otherwise engage in such relationship. In this case, it usually applies in franchises with same-sex relationships as its theme or franchises with implied, euphemistic same-sex relationships which would sometimes become a standard within its community (at the very least).
Due to this, it can be difficult to search for completely 'normal' heterosexual artwork due to the usage of this tag.
