Megpoid (メグッポイド) is a Vocaloid software by Internet Co. released in June 2009. GUMI (グミ) is the mascot of the software sometimes mistakenly going as Megpoid GUMI, or GUMI Megpoid. This comes from a confusion between the product and the mascot's name. Another mistake people make is calling GUMI as a Megpoid than a Vocaloid.
Megpoid's name was taken from the provider's name "Megumi" with "poid" being a combination of "ppoi" (っぽい, Resembling) and "loid": "like Vocaloid". The full implied name of this product is "Megumi-like Vocaloid."
