Overview
The Boeing RC-135 is a family of reconnaissance aircraft based off the C-135 Stratolifter built by Boeing. Several variants of the RC-135 have been built for different purposes.
Variants
KC-135A Recon conversion - Reconnaissance conversion of KC-135A Stratotanker.
KC-135R Rivet Stand - KC-135A Recon aircraft being converted with new antennas and radome.
KC-135R Rivet Quick - KC-135A 58-0126 was converted to KC-135R due to loss of 59-1465.
KC-135T Cobra Jaw - KC-135R 55-3121 was converted with hog nose radome and spinning fang receiver antennas in 1969.
RC-135A - Photo mapping variant, aircraft later de-modified.
RC-135B - Baseline variant of RC-135 with no mission equipment.
RC-135C Big Team - RC-135Bs equipped with AN/ASD-1 ELINT system.
RC-135D (KC-135A-II) Office Boy/Rivet Brass - First reconnaissance configured C-135s given the "R" MDS prefix designation.
