Zettai Karen Children (絶対可憐チルドレン, lit. 'Absolutely Lovely Children'), or Psychic Squad is a manga series by Takashi Shiina (椎名高志).

三宮紫穂。明石薫。野上葵。


The manga is a sci-fi action comedy in which a young genius scientist solves crimes together with three girls with supernatural powers.

Basically, it features slapstick comedy elements, while serious themes such as the anguish and inner conflict of those with extraordinary abilities, the friction and bond between espers and normals, and a future in which doom is predicted, are at the core of the series. Issues such as social awareness, terrorism and the military are also sometimes dealt with.

2003: A one-shot manga appeared in Shōnen Sunday super-supplementary edition.

2004: Serialisation in Weekly Shōnen Sunday for a short-term period.

2005: Officially serialised in Weekly Shōnen Sunday.

2008: TV animation based on the elementary school chapter aired from 6 April to 29 March 2009. Produced by SynergySP.

2010: OVA released.

2013: TV-anime The Unlimited: Hyoubu Kyousuke (also known as Unlimited Psychic Squad) began airing in January. Completely original story featuring Kyousuke Hyoubu.

2014: the serialisation is temporarily suspended with the end of the junior high school chapter in spring. The serialisation resumes at the end of the summer and the high school chapter begins.

2021: the serialisation ends with the publication of issue 33 of Weekly Shōnen Sunday, which was released on 14 July.

2022: Nominated for the Seiun Award in the comics category and won the category award.
