Overview
A original character (オリジナルキャラクター, orijinaru kyarakutā), in a broader sense refers to "characters original to the medium" that do not appear in the original work in the context of mix media development.
This also applies to fan-created derivative works, but in pixiv, it is often used to refer to characters created entirely independently by the contributors.
