Overview
The first volume of the novel was published in January 2010, and 10 volumes have been released by ASCII Media Works as of October 2012 so far. A manga adaptation illustrated by Houki Kusano began serialization in the April 2011 issue of ASCII Media Works' Dengeki G's Magazine, followed by drama CD which was released on June 28, 2012.
A 24-episode anime TV series adaptation by J.C.Staff began airing in October 2012.
Plot
Sakura Dormitory is a dorm of the high school affiliated with Suimei University of the Arts (or Suiko), which contains some eccentric, some delinquent students. Sorata Kanda is one of the students moved to Sakura Dormitory after being kicked out of the normal dorm for keeping a stray cat. As he starts to get used to the life in the dorm, Mashiro Shiina, a world famous artist who is incapable of taking care of her daily life, moves in and forced Sorata become her handler.
Thus the story is about their daily life as well as depicting each character's mental growth as the story progress.
