From 2017 until 2018, Granblue Fantasy reportedly generated $189 million and $307 million respectively. The game employs the gacha systems where new characters are acquired through using crystals (or tickets), which can be purchased through real money.
The popularity of the franchise eventually spawned a fighting spin-off titled Grandblue Fantasy Versus and an upcoming action RPG game named Granblue Fantasy: Relink.
