Business (事業, Jigyō, or 業務, Gyōmu, or 営業, Eigyō or 商業, Shōgyō) is the act of making a living by doing a form of work for a form of profit. An organization or group that engages in economic activities for the purpose of making money or for some other purpose is called a corporation.
Although sometimes confused with a company, the difference is that a company is a form of enterprise and has a legal personality based on the law.
