Overview
Originally a light novel series written by Yuuichi Sasamoto titled Miniskirt Space Pirates (ミニスカ宇宙海賊), Studio Satelight announced an anime adaption using Bodacious Space Pirates (モーレツ宇宙海賊) as the title.
Story
Set in a fictional future where space travel is possible, Kato Marika is an ordinary high school girl and a Space Yacht Club member. One day, Marika met her mother's subordinates and was told that her missing father was a captain of the pirate spaceship Bentenmaru and has recently passed away.
Due to a law in which direct descendants of the caption can only inherit the spaceship, the Bentenmaru crew asks Marika to become their new captain, starting a new life as a space pirate.
