Overview

Jirai Kei (地雷系, meaning "landmine-type") is commonly used to refer to "landmine" girls or the fashion styles worn by them. The term describes people who are "dangerous to get involved with" as they might go off like a landmine if you aren't careful. In other words, it refers to someone who might have an attractive appearance, but also has a troublesome personality.

The outfits associated with Jirai Kei often resemble lolita and kawaii styles. They commonly feature a combination of black with a muted secondary color such as pink.
