Overview
Lucky☆Star (らき☆すた, Raki Suta) is a A heartwarming and healing 4-koma by Kagami Yoshimizu about the daily lives of high school girls, centering on an otaku girl, Konata Izumi, and her classmates, Tsukasa Hiiragi, Miyuki Takara, and Tsukasa's twin sister, Kagami Hiiragi.
Serialization began in the January 2004 issue of the monthly game magazine Comptiq. After a brief hiatus, the series became irregularly serialized from 2017 and is still serialized as of 2021 (although it is effectively on hiatus). The most recent book in the series is volume 10, which was released in 2013.
The popularity of Lucky Star exploded when it was adapted into an anime in 2007. The anime also attracted attention for it's collaborations with Anime Tenchou and The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya.
The monthly Comptiq magazine had a reader's page called Super Lucky Channel, which later developed into a radio and anime section.
