Overview
A non-cellular organism (非細胞性生物) is a type of organism that has no cells.
Subclass
- Virus: Infectious DNA or RNA with a protein shell.
- Viroid: Naked infectious RNA without a protein shell.
A virus by itself is not an organism because it does not have cells, but it can be considered to be behaving as an organism if the state in which the virus infects the host (virocell) is considered to be its true form.
