Overview
Other car (アザーカー) is a Japanese gaming term for racing games. They are cars that appear in racing games set on public roads such as urban areas and highways, and appear as ordinary vehicles that do not participate in races. Of course, since they run at the same speed as ordinary vehicles (50 km/h to 100 km/h), they are so-called moving obstacles.
There are numerous types of other cars (sedans, trucks, buses, wagons, etc.), but depending on the game, they may be fictional or based on real cars or real people.
In addition, due to the nature of the game, it is difficult to obtain permission from the manufacturer, so some games do not mention the actual name of the car or the manufacturer (especially Thrill Drive, a game about traffic accidents).
Although they stand as mob characters, so to speak, there are games that allow players to use the other cars through items, hidden commands, etc.
