Summary
Release in Japan on December 12, 2004 and followed by the rest of the regions. It is the very first video game handheld in the PlayStation Brand.
Also known as PSP, It use Universal Media Disc (UMD) as its mean of game media, and use Memory Stick for game saves.
The PlayStation Portable is supersedes by PlayStation Vita. Sony was ending the productions of PSP throughout 2014.

To all models
- All models were powered by a Sony CXD2962GG chip which process both instructions and graphics. It is accompanied by a Media Engine Chip which processes video and sound.
- All models contains a analog pad. (N1000 use touch-based pad)
- With the exception of N1000 model, all PSP models has the UMD drive.
- All models has the Memory Stick slot to use Memory Stick. (N1000, however, has a Memory Stick Micro slot instead)
- With the exception of N1000 and E1000 models, all PSP models featuring a removable battery.
- All models supports Wifi connectivity. (Except E1000 model)
- All models (except E1000 model) has stereo speakers.
- Both PSP-3000 and PSP-N1000 models contains a built-in mic.
PSP-1000
- The PSP-1000 model contains 32 MB of RAM and 32 MB of internal storage.
- This model contains a 1800 mAh removable battery.
- It supports IRDA connectivity.
PSP-2000 and PSP-3000
- The PSP-2000 and PSP-3000 models contains 64 MB of RAM and 64 MB of internal storage.
- Those models contains a 1200 mAh removable battery, which is smaller than the one on PSP-1000.
- Both models featuring slimmer design.
PSP-N1000 (PSP Go)
- The PSP-N1000 model contains 64 MB of RAM and 16 GB of internal storage.
- This model has the sliding pad design.
- It lacks the UMD drive; Only the digital PlayStation Portable titles were playable as a result.
- It also supports Bluetooth connectivity.
PSP-E1000
- It lacks the Wifi connectivity that the other PSP models has.
- It has mono speaker.
- It has the cheaper build.
