Overview
Redfall is an open-world first-person shooter video game developed by Arkane Austin and published by Bethesda Softworks. It was released on May 2, 2023, and is available for Xbox Series X|S and Windows PC platforms.
Setting
The game is set in a fictional New England town under siege by an army of vampires. Players will explore this dark and dangerous environment as they battle against supernatural foes.
Gameplay
Redfall is an action-adventure game where players can choose from four playable characters, each with unique backgrounds and abilities. Working together, players must fight against vampires and other human enemies. Redfall combines storytelling with action-packed gameplay in the tradition of Arkane game-developing masterpieces such as Dishonored and Prey. Players can expect a mix of intense combat, exploration, and character-driven narrative.
Developer
Arkane Austin was the studio behind Prey and Dishonored. Unfortunately, the studio was closed by Microsoft on May 7, 2024, a little over a year after the game's release. As a result of Microsoft ending all development on the game, Redfall will not receive promised updates, including an offline mode and new character DLC. However, Microsoft has stated that Redfall will remain online to play, and it will provide a "make-good" offer for those who bought the Hero DLC.
