Overview

JoJo's Bizarre Adventure: Stone Ocean (ジョジョの奇妙な冒険ストーンオーシャン) is the sixth part of a manga series JoJo's Bizarre Adventure by Hirohiko Araki. 17 volumes (Volumes 64-80).

The protagonist is Jolyne Cujoh (空条徐倫), the first female protagonist in the series.

Plot

On 28 October 2011, in the USA, Jolyne Cujoh is involved in a car accident while driving her boyfriend's car. She is then set up by her lawyer and her boyfriend and sentenced to 15 years in prison at the Green Dolphin Street Prison.

Jolyne decides to fight for her freedom from the Stone Ocean (meaning the prison) using her Stand, Stone Free, which was awakened by a pendant given to her by her father, Jotaro. However, her imprisonment was a trap to lure Jotaro Cujoh into the prison...

Anime

An anime adaptation was announced on 4 April 2021.

In previous anime series, each part of the series had been broadcast on TV programmes for two to three cours. However, due to streaming tie-ups, reduced burden on anime production and the stock of original works, this part is in a special format of airing and streaming, in which episodes 1-13 have been streamed globally on Netflix in advance in December 2021, and broadcast on TV started in January 2022, the following year.

Episodes 14-24 onwards were distributed and broadcast on TV in the fall of 2022 in a similar format.

The TV broadcast was broadcast on TOKYOMX, MBS, BS11, AbemaTV and Animax.
