Overview
The Sun (太陽, taiyō) is a giant star at the center of our solar system. It is one of the fixed stars of our galaxy.
The Sun accounts for about 99.7% of the total mass of the solar system.
Its estimated age is about 4.6 billion years, and it is 109 times larger and 333,000 times more massive than the Earth. Earth is one of eight planets orbiting the sun.
