Overview編集

Sweet Blue Flowers (青い花, 'Aoi Hana') is a manga work created by Takako Shimura and a TV animation series based on it.

It was serialised in the bimonthly magazine Manga Erotics F (Ohta Publishing) from November 2004 to July 2013. The book series was published in 8 volumes.

The work depicts friendship and romance between women, centred on the two main characters Akira Okudaira and Fumi Manjōme, who attend different girls' high schools.

It is a 'Yuri' work focusing on relationships and romance between women, and in addition, it also depicts male-female romance.

The story is set in Kamakura and its surroundings, including along the Enoden railway line.

The story is based on a modern setting, but also includes elements reminiscent of the somewhat old-fashioned world in which there is a girls' school, such as a young lady from an old family and her betrothed. Although there is a calm atmosphere throughout the work, serious and graphic descriptions can be found, and physical relationships are also depicted.

Plot編集

Fumi Manjōme enters Matsuoka Girls' High School, a girls' high school along the Enoden line, and on the day of the entrance ceremony she is reunited with her childhood friend Akira Okudaira, who also entered Fujigaya Jogakuin, a girls' school along the Enoden line, after 10 years, and the two start going to school together.

At the time, Fumi was depressed because her cousin Chizu Hanashiro, with whom she was dating, had got married, but in the literature club room she meets an upperclassman, Yasuko Sugimoto, and they start dating.
