Overview
Yui Horie (堀江 由衣, Horie Yui) is a voice actress and singer that grew up loving anime, especially Creamy Mami, the Magic Angel (she later participated in a live performance to commemorate the 30th anniversary of its broadcast), and had a strong yearning for magical girls.
Therefore, she dreamed of becoming a voice actress in the future, but spent her days not knowing how to become a voice actress, and then, under the influence of Dirty Pair, her future dream somehow changed to becoming a detective (she later played the role of Yuri in a radio drama. She still talks about wanting to play a detective.).
In 1995, while a junior college student, a friend invited her to audition as a special student for the 11th term of the Japan Narration Actor Institute (Arts Vision), and she passed. She entered the voice acting industry.
In 1997, she made her voice acting debut in Voice Fantasia: Ushinawareta Voice Power.
The previous year, she was selected as a member of the Dorikan Club in an audition project on the radio program SOMETHING DREAMS Multimedia Countdown. She would later form Yamato Nadeshiko with fellow member Yukari Tamura.
In 1999, she attracted attention with her role as Multi in the mixed-media work ToHeart, and in 2000, she joined the ranks of popular voice actors with her role as the heroine Naru Narusegawa in the TV anime Love Hina.
