Donburi (Japanese for "bowl") is a series of Japanese meals involving cooked meats such as chicken, pork, seafood, or beef, oftentimes eggs cooked in various ways or raw, and various vegetables like scallion, onion, cabbage, or others. This is usually served on a bed of rice in a large bowl, from which the meal gets its name.
There are many variations of donburi, both local and national ones.
