Overview編集

"Transfur" is a tag that covers art which depicts a character, who is usually human, either in the process of or directly after transforming into another creature or other non-human entity. While transformation art can depict a wide variety of end results, such as inanimate objects and mythical creatures, animals (both real and fictional) are the most common subject of transformation artwork.

Transfur art usually includes a depiction of the process of and/or the immediate aftermath of the transformation. Common elements of this type of artwork often includes the reaction of the subject as they go through the changes. Reactions often include negative emotions like shock and sadness, though positive emotions like joy and bliss are common as well.

Pokemonization編集

"Pokemonization" is a common subgenre of Transfur art that features a subject transforming into a Pokemon. Pokemonization is popular due to a variety of reasons, such as the popularity of the Pokemon franchise and the elements of transformation featured in the Pokemon franchise as a whole (such as Pokedex entries, Pokemon Mystery Dungeon, and the occasional transformation in Pokemon animations).

Latex編集

Latex transfur art depicts an individual being covered in a slime-like substance and being changed by it into a different end form. This genre of transfur art is prominently featured in the game series Changed, where the player is hunted by creatures made of "latex" that want to assimilate the player character.
