Overview
Illustration (イラストレーション, irasutorēshon) is a form of picture that can drawn, painted, photographed, ect. A short form of the term in Japanese is illust (イラスト, irasuto).
In the past, the usage of this word is used to explain situations in a more flexible and easier to understand method for the readers. Usually these can be seen in books, newspapers, or ads.
Presently, the word illustration is used entirely to describe hand drawn arts and not photographs.
