The Yamato-class Battleships were the largest Battleships ever built. Commissioned at the start of the Pacific War, these warships were cthe main component of the Imperial Japanese Navy's Battleship force. Both Yamato-class vessels would be sunk by US Navy air attacks during the final years of World War II.
