Overview
Wild Weasel is the USAF designation for missions tasked with suppressing enemy air defences (SEAD) and or the destruction of enemy air defences (DEAD). The Wild Weasel mission first appeared during the Vietnam War in 1965 as Iron Hand. The name was soon changed to Wild Weasel while Iron Hand was adopted by the US Navy.
