Overview & Personality
Dr. Neo Cortex is the main antagonist of the video game series Crash Bandicoot. He is a short mad scientist who wishes to conquer the world by using an army of mutated animals, among them being the titular Crash himself, who defected and has become his archenemy ever since the first game.
Originally, Cortex was depicted as a very cold and no-nonsense villain who showed a severe lack of humanity or compassion, with a willingness to deceive others and cast out those who failed him. This would start to change when Crash Bandicoot: Warped released, which portrayed Cortex as far more cordial and weary due to Uka Uka constantly supervising and intimidating him, making him start to wonder if he should continue his schemes to by the end of the game. In the post-Naughty Dog games, Cortex became far more silly and flamboyant, showing a far more approachable (while still evil) side of himself.
