Bayonetta (ベヨネッタ Beyonetta) is an action game developed by Platinum Games, published by Sega, and was released in Japan, October 2009. It also has an English version which was released shortly after the original. The game's main character is the sexy and crazy witch Bayonetta who uses handguns and magic to defeat her enemies.
Overview
Even though Bayonetta is usually found equipped with various firearms, she's a shapeshifting witch who can perform magical attacks, such as summoning a demon from her hair to dispatch her enemies. Her design was developed by Hideki Kamiya, who focused on creating Bayonetta as a strong woman with very long legs in order to appear as a fast, powerful and intelligent heroine while using her legs and body a lot during battle.
The game itself takes place in a fictional European city called Vigrid. Even though the game's director called the game's story original, it is known to resemble both Scandinavian mythology and Devil May Cry a lot.
