Overview
The Internet (インターネット) is a worldwide network system that uses the Transmission Control Protocol and the Internet Protocol (together called TCP and IP). Computer networks around the world are interconnected.
The internet is often confused with the World Wide Web (WWW, Web), a hypertext system offered on the internet, but other services besides the web are also widely used, such as e-mail for exchanging text and files, and IP telephony for voice or video calls.
