Overview
Artifact (アーティファクト, ātifakuto), or artefact in British English refers to objects that were used in ancient times but are no longer used in modern times.
Not only those left by primitive people of the Paleolithic period and those left by ancient people around the Jomon, Yayoi, and Kofun periods (ancient society), but also remains of the middle and early modern period (Kamakura to Edo period) are called artifacts if they are excavated.
Sacred relics are also called holy relics, and they exist not only in the fantasy world but also in our own world.
