Camouflage (迷彩, meisai / カモフラージュ, kamofurāju / カムフラージュ) is French word and a term that refers to mimicry and disguise. It is within the animal kingdom as it can be part of that animal's natural look. This can be seen most often with prey as it makes the predator's hunt much harder for them.
In the military, it is used for military uniforms to identify soldiers and avoid detection. The pattern is also used outside the military for different types of clothing and merchandise.
