Colubridae (ナミヘビ科) is a large group to which about two-thirds of all snakes belong. It includes a variety of species, such as the green tree snake and the striped snake, which live near homes, those that burrow into the ground, those that swim in mountain rivers, and those that glide through the air. Some snakes are venomous, but only a few are poisonous enough to kill people.
