The Boeing E-3 Sentry is an American built Airborne Early-Warning and Control System aircraft or 'AWACS', a type of Airborne Early-Warning Aircraft. The E-3 largely is based of the Boeing 707 airframe. The USAF, NATO and the Royal Saudi Air Force operate the Sentry while the RAF has retired their E-3s from service.
