The F/A-18C (N) or F/A-18 C Night Attack Hornet is a version of the F/A-18C that allows the pilot to use Night Vision Goggles (NVGs) in the cockpit at night. It entered service in 1989 with CVW-9's Strike Fighter squadrons VFA-146 and VFA-147 when they retired the A-7E Corsair II.
