The Mitsubishi G4M 'Betty' (Mitsubishi Navy Type 1 attack bomber) was a Japanese medium level and torpedo bomber that saw major service during the Pacific War with the IJNAS. The Betty and it's predecessor, the G3M Nell; both took in the sinking of Force Z in December 1941.
Due to lack of armor or self-sealing tanks, the Betty was nicknamed 'The Flying Lighter' by Allied pilots. Towards the end of the war, the G4M was used to carry the MXY-7 Ohka anti-ship aircraft to attack US vessels.
