Jacques Villeneuve is a former Formula One driver from the Canada. Villeneuve is the son of the late Formula One driver Gilles Villeneuve who was killed at the 1982 Belgian Grand Prix.
In 1995 Jacques Villeneuve won the Indianapolis 500, becoming the first Canadian to do so. In 1996, at his F1 debut in Melbourne, Australia, he was able to get pole position but finished second. He became Canada's only F1 world champion in 1997.
