Alain Prost is a former Formula One driver and team owner from France. Prost is best remembered as Ayrton Senna's most fierce F1 rival when the tangled for drivers championship between 1988-1990 as well in 1993. After Prost won his last title in 1993, him and Senna were able to end their rivalry and two became friends until Senna's fatal accident in 1994.
In 1997, Prost bought the Ligier team and renamed it Prost Grand Prix after himself. The team failed to win a Championship, scoring only 35 points when it left F1 at the end of 2001.
