Outline

Kuki Shinobu is a 4-star playable Sword Electro character in Genshin Impact.

A former shrine maiden of the Grand Narukami Shrine, she is the sidekick of Arataki Itto and Deputy Leader of the Arataki Gang. Due to her professionalism and certifications, Kuki Shinobu has helped the Arataki Gang out of many problems, and has even expanded the gang's business scope outside of the regular mischief and delinquency.

Talents

• Normal Attack: Shinobu's Shadowsword

1. Normal Attack: Performs up to 4 rapid strikes.
2. Charged Attack: Consumes a certain amount of Stamina to unleash 2 rapid sword strikes.
3. Plunging Attack: Plunges from mid-air to strike the ground below, damaging opponents along the path and dealing AoE DMG upon impact.

• Elemental Skill: Sanctifying Ring

Creates a Grass Ring of Sanctification at the cost of part of her HP, dealing Electro DMG to nearby opponents.

Grass Ring of Sanctification: Follows your current active character around. Deals Electro DMG to nearby opponents every 1.5s and restores HP for the active character(s) within the ring's AoE based on Kuki Shinobu's Max HP. The HP consumption from using this skill can only bring her to 20% HP.

• Elemental Burst: Gyoei Narukami Kariyama Rite

Stabs an evil-excoriating blade into the ground, creating a field that cleanses the area of all that is foul, dealing continuous Electro DMG to opponents within its AoE based on Shinobu's Max HP.

If Shinobu's HP is less than or equal to 50% when this skill is used, the field will last longer.

• 1st Ascension Passive: Breaking Free

When Shinobu's HP is not higher than 50%, her Healing Bonus is increased by 15%.

• 4th Ascension Passive: Heart's Repose

Sanctifying Ring's abilities will be boosted based on Shinobu's Elemental Mastery:

1. Healing amount will be increased by 75% of Elemental Mastery.
2. DMG dealt is increased by 25% of Elemental Mastery.

• Utility Passive: Protracted Prayers

Gains 25% more rewards when dispatched on an Inazuma Expedition for 20 hours.

Constellation

• Level 1: To Cloister Compassion

Gyoei Narukami Kariyama Rite's AoE is increased by 50%.

• Level 2: To Forsake Fortune

Grass Ring of Sanctification's duration is increased by 3s.

• Level 3: To Sequester Sorrow

Increases the Level of Sanctifying Ring by 3. Maximum upgrade level is 15.

• Level 4: To Sever Sealing

When the Normal, Charged, or Plunging Attacks of the character affected by Shinobu's Grass Ring of Sanctification hit opponents, a Thundergrass Mark will land on the opponent's position and deal AoE Electro DMG based on 9.7% of Shinobu's Max HP.

This effect can occur once every 5s.

• Level 5: To Cease Courtesies

Increases the Level of Gyoei Narukami Kariyama Rite by 3. Maximum upgrade level is 15.

• Level 6: To Ward Weakness

When Kuki Shinobu takes lethal DMG, this instance of DMG will not take her down. This effect will automatically trigger when her HP reaches 1 and will trigger once every 60s.

When Shinobu's HP drops below 25%, she will gain 150 Elemental Mastery for 15s. This effect will trigger once every 60s.

Personality

Unlike the rest of her family who work as shrine maidens, Shinobu prefers to forge her own path, having tried various trades, studying in Liyue and even joining the Arataki Gang, simply because they allow her to live how she wants — outside and enjoying various experiences, rather than being shackled to the same duties repeatedly.

She's a stark contrast to the rest of her group, taking matters seriously and in a generally professional matter. She handles the gang's legal issues and gets them out of trouble and tries her best to compensate for any damages that Itto might have caused with his antics. Her professionalism is noted by the people of Hanamizaka, who go to her for advice on various matters and are left impressed as their discussions with her go smoothly and efficiently.

Shinobu is on poor terms with her parents, as they had forced her to become a shrine maiden in her youth and felt that they did not care for her well-being along with loathing the job. However, she is still on good terms with her sister Miyuki. She wears a face mask as to prevent others from getting involved in her personal affairs.

She is also known to be terrifying when sufficiently angered, often sourcing from having her plans disrupted as a result from having to bail out the Arataki Gang from prison. She often uses physical discipline on the gang as a way to discourage further nonsense, causing the gang members to be fearful of her sometimes. On the other hand, Sayu believes that she will disturb her sleep because "birds of a feather flock together".

Nobody questions my leadership in the gang, what I say goes — except when it comes to Shinobu. She's always challenging everything I say. And not only that — all the hard-earned loot I bring back and share with everyone? She goes and returns it! But also, she gets me out of jail, and out of every mess we get ourselves into, so I'll let it slide. Besides, I don't wanna get on her bad side... An angry Shinobu would make my life a nightmare.

Shinobu? I remember her, she's the Inazuman girl that came to Liyue as an exchange student to specialize in law. When she was doing her coursework, she used to meet with me to discuss some cases, and after we were done, she'd always bow and thank me, which would always make me a little embarrassed. I always felt like she was going to make an excellent lawyer in the future. Thinking about it, Inazuma went into lockdown right around the time she would have graduated. I wonder how she's been doing since she went back...

Doesn't ring a bell, umm... What? Arataki Itto's little sidekick? Ugh, well she's definitely gotta be a sleep disturbance then. Birds of a feather flock together...

I've heard a lot about Miyuki's little sister. Quite the character, I'm told. Although she comes from a family of shrine maidens, she's gone her own way in life — tried her hand at many different trades, studied abroad in Liyue, even ended up joining the Arataki Gang... Fascinating girl. Maybe I should have Miyuki introduce me. Yes, that'll work — Miyuki wouldn't dream of refusing my request.

With her talent and qualifications, it's a shame she decided to join the Arataki gang. I must concede, however, that at the very least, her presence has effectively prevented idlers from stirring up trouble and disturbing the public, reducing the burden on the Tenryou Commission.

The Arataki Gang is a free and diverse organization that accepts anyone, regardless of their background. Pretty amazing if you ask me. They're lucky to have Shinobu to help keep them all in line. Hmm? How do I know all this? Haha, I mean... as deductions go, this one was pretty elementary.
