Moominization (ムーミン化) is to draw a character as Moomintroll from the Moomin series. It is also an abbreviation for the "Moominized character speaks that character's lines with a close-up in the second panel, it usually works out cartoonishly" comics.

Overview

Moominization (ムーミン化) is the process of portraying an existing character as Moomintroll from Tove Jansson's Moomin series.

Illustration submissions through the hashtag "Moominized character speaks that character's lines with a close-up in the second panel, it usually works out cartoonishly" (#ムーミン化したキャラにそのキャラのセリフ喋らせて２コマ目でアップにすると漫画的に大抵どうにかなる) on Twitter led to an increase in the number of submissions on pixiv as well.

Because of the character limit on pixiv tags, "Moominized" is often used in abbreviated form.

Most of the Moominized illustrations are of that hashtag, but some can be found in just the form of Moomintroll, regardless.
