For the biological process of reproduction see reproduce.

Overview

Reproduction (模写, mosha) is the act of copying the artwork of another, usually in fine arts.

Some illustrations in photographic reproductions can be mistaken for photographs.

Distinction from tracing tag in pixiv

In pixiv, the mainstream view is that reproduction and tracing are two different things.

The term tracing is used to describe a mere trace of an image, which is deemed problematic.

A reproduction is a drawing that resembles a model by observing it, like a sketch.

The tag is attached based on the definition of reproduction. Incidentally, there is no difference in terms of copyright.
