Sangonomiya Kokomi is a 5-star playable Catalyst Hydro character in Genshin Impact.

The young Divine Priestess of Watatsumi Island and a descendant of the Sangonomiya Clan, Kokomi is in charge of most of Watatsumi's affairs, shouldering heavy responsibilities alone in hopes for giving Watatsumi Island's people the hopes and happiness that they desire.

  • Normal Attack: The Shape of Water

  1. Normal Attack: Performs up to 3 consecutive attacks that take the form of swimming fish, dealing Hydro DMG.
  2. Charged Attack: Consumes a certain amount of Stamina to deal AoE Hydro DMG after a short casting time.
  3. Plunging Attack: Gathering the might of Hydro, Kokomi plunges towards the ground from mid-air, damaging all opponents in her path. Deals AoE Hydro DMG upon impact with the ground.

  • Elemental Skill: Kurage's Oath

Summons a "Bake-Kurage" created from water that can heal her allies.
Using this skill will apply the Wet status to Sangonomiya Kokomi.
Bake-Kurage: Deals Hydro DMG to surrounding opponents and heal nearby active characters at fixed intervals. This healing is based on Kokomi's Max HP.

  • Elemental Burst: Nereid's Ascension

Summons the might of Watatsumi, dealing Hydro DMG to surrounding opponents, before robing Kokomi in a Ceremonial Garment made from the flowing waters of Sangonomiya.
Ceremonial Garment:

  1. Sangonomiya Kokomi's Normal Attack, Charged Attack and Bake-Kurage DMG are increased based on her Max HP.
  2. When her Normal and Charged Attacks hit opponents, Kokomi will restore HP for all nearby party members, and the amount restored is based on her Max HP.
  3. Increases Sangonomiya Kokomi's resistance to interruption and allows her to walk on the water's surface.
These effects will be cleared once Sangonomiya Kokomi leaves the field.

  • 1st Ascension Passive: Tamanooya's Casket
If Sangonomiya Kokomi's own Bake-Kurage are on the field when she uses Nereid's Ascension, the Bake-Kurage's duration will be refreshed.

  • 4th Ascension Passive: Song of Pearls
While donning the Ceremonial Garment created by Nereid's Ascension, the Normal and Charged Attack DMG Bonus Sangonomiya Kokomi gains based on her Max HP will receive a further increase based on 15% of her Healing Bonus.

  • Utility Passive: Princess of Watatsumi
Decreases swimming Stamina consumption for your own party members by 20%.
Not stackable with Passive Talents that provide the exact same effects.

  • Passive: Flawless Strategy
Sangonomiya Kokomi has a 25% Healing Bonus, but a 100% decrease in CRIT Rate.

  • Level 1: At Water's Edge

While donning the Ceremonial Garment created by Nereid's Ascension, the final Normal Attack in Sangonomiya Kokomi's combo will unleash a swimming fish to deal 30% of her Max HP as Hydro DMG.
This DMG is not considered Normal Attack DMG.

  • Level 2: The Clouds Like Waves Rippling
Sangonomiya Kokomi gains the following Healing Bonuses with regard to characters with 50% or less HP via the following methods:
Kurage's Oath Bake-Kurage: 4.5% of Kokomi's Max HP.

  • Level 3: The Moon, A Ship O'er the Seas

  • Level 4: The Moon Overlooks the Waters
While donning the Ceremonial Garment created by Nereid's Ascension, Sangonomiya Kokomi's Normal Attack SPD is increased by 10%, and Normal Attacks that hit opponents will restore 0.8 Energy for her.
This effect can occur once every 0.2s.
  • Level 5: All Streams Flow to the Sea
Increases the Level of Kurage's Oath by 3. Maximum upgrade level is 15.
  • Level 6: Sango Isshin
While donning the Ceremonial Garment created by Nereid's Ascension, Sangonomiya Kokomi gains a 40% Hydro DMG Bonus for 4s when her Normal and Charged Attacks heal, or would heal, any party member with 80% or more HP.

As the Divine Priestess of Watatsumi Island, Kokomi handles almost all of the affairs on the island herself. While she is not content with such a burden, having preferred to be a military advisor, she nonetheless takes the mantle to give her people the hope and happiness they deserve. Like Jean, Kokomi easily burns herself out completing her tasks and tries to keep it hidden from others to avoid worrying them.

Along with handling all sorts of affairs, Kokomi is a skilled strategist that thinks of all potential scenarios and how to handle them as a result of reading plenty of military books, although she also enjoys casual reading. Kujou Sara remarks that her planning prevented the Tenryou Commission from claiming full victory over the Watatsumi Army. She continues this habit even outside of military affairs. As a result of the role she plays, she is universally beloved by her people.

Character Mentions

As the leader of Watatsumi Island, Her Excellency is responsible for assessing the scenario and formulating a plan. It is then my duty to put every detail of the plan into action and to keep the situation under control on the front line. We are united with the whole resistance in achieving a single purpose: victory.

I have only the utmost respect for Her Excellency. Without her ingenious and insightful strategies, the resistance could never have come as far as it has today. But if you ask me, it seems that deep down she prefers a much quieter existence. So when there's no pressing military matters, I try not to disturb her too much.

Hmm, according to our intel, Sayu is a ninja proficient in the art of infiltration — a skill set which could prove very useful in some of Her Excellency's special operations... However, our intel also indicates that she could be difficult to recruit as she is rather unruly, and often disappears without a trace. Hmm? She's with the Yashiro Commission? Oh, well forget it then.

Her Excellency once warned me of my fatal flaw... I tend to get too engrossed in battle, fighting deep into enemy lines and forgetting about everything else. She told me that my bravery is commendable, but as a ranking officer, it's not my place to do this. I'm doing my best to improve, but... Would you also be able to keep an eye on me?

During my time with the Resistance, there was no one among our ranks who wouldn't look up to Her Excellency. As someone with a great passion for military matters, victory at all costs isn't really part of her ethos. She'd always try to limit the casualties to the minimum while planning her next move. By some accounts, it also seems that she seeks to take charge of both internal and foreign affairs for Watatsumi Island. Wouldn't that be too much to expect of herself though?

She is more proficient as a military strategist than a priestess. The way she uses directives to wage war is almost unheard of. I wonder if I should adopt this technique for commanding the Shogun's Army? Hmm... but this could lead us to a situation whereby war is waged at the negotiation table, each side with their pack of strategy cards, playing them one by one until a victor emerges... Then again, perhaps not.

Gorou is to Sangonomiya Kokomi as I am to the Raiden Shogun. He is fiercely loyal, and I have great respect for this. It's a shame we're on opposing sides, so we'll never get to work together... Still, I am glad to have an admirable foe. Also... I hear he's a fifth-born son. That just makes it even better.

Indeed. It was I who slew Orobaxi. But I also allowed the people of Sangonomiya to continue worshiping it as the Watatsumi Omikami, so that it might enjoy their offerings. Now, Sangonomiya has destroyed the local Narukami Shrine and rebels against the Shogunate. As the Divine Priestess representing the Watatsumi Omikami, she must be held accountable.

These Divine Priestesses seem to be getting cuter every generation. I wonder how she looks performing the Dance of Divine Peace... Perhaps even little schools of fish swish around her while she spins. If she's ever looking for a more experienced head shrine maiden to learn from, I'd be quite happy to share a few tips with her... Hehe, as long as she asked me nicely, of course.

I've actually never seen Madam Sangonomiya before. Whenever she appears, practically the whole village crowds around her... I'm not about to contend with that. Oh, and even if you made it through all the villagers, there'd still be a circle of shrine maidens around her! For one of us young people to gain that kind of recognition from everyone, it must have taken a lot of work.

Paimon: Did you know, (Traveler)? That Sangonomiya Kokomi, she's Watatsumi Island's Divine Priestess.
Paimon: In other words, she's the ruler of Watatsumi Island! The whole of Watatsumi Island is controlled by her.
Paimon: Paimon also wants to become a big shot like her...
(Traveler): What will you do after you become a big shot?
Paimon: Then, Paimon will deliver justice. For example... Ahem.
Paimon: The suspect in question, known as the Traveler, ate two Dango for lunch and only gave one to the victim, Paimon. This is a serious violation of article thirty seven, "Fairness and Justice," of the "Paimon Decree."
(Traveler): Oh... may I ask how Your Excellency Paimon plans to resolve this issue?
Paimon: Of course. As compensation for your wrongdoings, you will have to make even more Dango for Paimon, hee-hee!
